I sit down with Dane Czarnecki, Gary Strassburg, Jake Collier, and Brian Leets. We discus the efforts and work these guys are putting in at commission meetings here in Washington state with the department of fish and wildlife. We chat a bit about how to get involved, a playbook for people who want their voice heard at meetings and what is upcoming in their efforts. we also get to talk with Jake about what his company One Outdoors is and how to reach them about the awesome opportunities they offer.

On this episode of The Broadside Podcast I am joined by an old friend of mine by the name of James Forslund. James is a co-owner of Bear Country Outdoors and an avid bear hunter and outdoorsman. We  talk about how James and the other members of Bear Country are putting up the good fight to keep our rights as hunter prevelent in the state of washington and also about how Bear Country Outdoors got started and how they continue to make great content to help with all hunters in tasks such as processing game and utilizing harvested bear. They are really trying to make bear hunting become more of a household tradition in showing that its not just a "rug on the wall" but great resources for your family.

|6| Cindy Carpenter with Youth Outdoors Unlimited

I met with Cindy at the Central Washington Sportsman show at the Yakima Valley Sundome to chat with her and her husband Joe about he organization they run called Youth Outdoors Unlimited. It is a Washington Based Non Profit that provides hunting and fishing trips to terminally ill or physically disabled children. Cindy explains how they are able to do this with their adaptive equipment and resources.

|5| Future of hunting with Chris Meyer and D.J. Scadlock of Titan Outdoors

I was joined by Chris and D.J. to discuss the "Lil Titans Hunt For Our Future" hunt camp put on by Titan Outdoors. This is a 4 day youth hunt camp for kids ages 9-15 to go experience a successful hunt and everything involved in that from the stalk to the grinder. They explain the ins and outs of the camp and how to get involved and also how to enter to be one of the lucky kids chosen to go on the hunt. Henry Pond, one of the guides working with Big Horn Outfitters out of Salmon Idaho stopped by and we chated about how their operation works there in Idaho. Henry explains how they run their outfitters and gives advice on where to go to look them up to hire them fore their services. We cover the game packages they offer along with high mountain fishing trips.

Got to chat with Mike Herz on the phone about some hot button issues in the world of hunting rights. We dive into some of our travel plans and hunting trips planned for the 2023 season for some lighter hearted conversation but we also hit the hard hitting stuff like the state of the WDFW commission and the attack on hunting from some of the members. Mike shares some important information on where and how to get involved and get your voice heard to help maintain our hunting rights in Washington state.
