After the last Commission meeting here in Washington Joel Swecker, the owner of Blackriver Taxidermy organized a pint night for those who showed up at the meeting to mingle afterwards. I joined everyone there and showed up with my equipment and invited some hunters who happen to attend the meeting to sit down with me and talk about what they thought about the meeting, and think about the current Climate here in Washington State when it pertains to Hunting.

I get to finally sit down and have a good conversaion with the Next Generation Hunter, Will Christisom. Will wasn't really raised in a hunting family and found the lifestyle later on in life. He is a memebr of the Conservation Coalition of Washington and a conservationists. We talk about his youth and the life he grew up in and his transition into hunting and providing wild meat for friends and family.

WORN is a 501c3 Non profit in Washington state specializing in the recovery of vehicles in areas that first responders or tow trucks cant get you out of. On this episode a group of us were thrilled to be joined by Bart George. Bart is the Wildlife Program manager for the Kalispel tribe, a licensed guide and hound hunter in Idaho. He also has been part of a very interesting research project in North East Washington. We dive into what that research is and also try to get as much great information out of Bart as we can. I drove over the cascades to Black River Taxidermy to meet with Joel and discuss all things taxidermy related, from tips and tricks for guys in the field and the tools to help preserve your trophy, to understanding the laws pertaining to CWD and Washington State. We hear about a close encounter with a grizzly bear and great advice when planning on taking an animal in for taxidermy work.

On this episode i am joined by Marie Neumiller of the Inland Northwest Wildlife Council, Mike Herz a sitting board member of the American Bear Foundation Washington Chapter, Jake Collier of One Outdoors. All, including myself members of the new Conservation Coalition of Washington. We got the opportunity to sit down and ask some questions to former WDFW Commissioner Kim Thorburn. She has been a strong advocate for hunting and its use in conservation and was one of few who stood strong to support the science and recommedation of the Washington spring bear hunt.
